The Battles
The battle for compensation and justice for the many people who have contracted asbestos-related disease stretches back to the 1930s.
These struggles have alerted the public to the lethal danger of asbestos, changed compensation laws, created safer working and living environments and, above all, exacted some financial recompense from asbestos companies for the human damage their industry has caused.
Many people and organisations have combined in this struggle. In this section we provide an overview of the history of asbestos litigation, and also include some of the major players talking about their personal experiences in the battles for compensation that continue through to the present day.
