Dr Andrew Holloway is a senior researcher at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Victoria. Andrew received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 1997. He is an experienced cancer researcher and is the principal investigator for two NCARD grants.

The first will analyse gene expression in relation to chromosome copy number in malignant mesothelioma. The second project (for which he is joint principal investigator with Associate Professor Anthony LaMontagne from the University of Melbourne) will identify and recruit a large cohort of asbestos exposed workers from the Latrobe Valley Power Industry for the study of asbestos related diseases, including a biospecimen bank.
Dr Holloway was Head of the Peter MacCallum Microarray Facility from 2000 to 2005. During this period, he gained a reputation of producing large quantities of high quality arrays and became one of the leading microarray experts in Australia. He was also the co-investigator on a NHMRC project to develop a diagnostic to identify the origin of tumours of unknown primary. He is currently a principal investigator on several other NHMRC or overseas funded projects, all of which relate to the molecular analysis of malignant mesothelioma. He collaborates with groups both in Australia and overseas.
