The Australian Asbestos Network website is an outcome of a current research project funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council. The project aims to develop an online resource for anyone in the community who wants to find out more about asbestos; its historical legacy, current impacts on Australian society and the ways in which we can all help to minimise its harmful effects on our health and wellbeing.
We suggest that you start your experience from the first page of the Asbestos Stories section and then work your way through each section. If you wish to start in a particular area, you can select from the blue left hand column and then follow the links in the pages.
This website is comprehensive and does require some time to explore. In order to ensure an optimum experience, you may need to install some software such as Adobe Flashplayer and Adobe PDF Reader.
The website has also been built to run at its optimum level in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or above. You can also use Mozilla Firefox.
We hope that you will find the website useful and informative and look forward to bringing you more stories, resources and helpful information in the future.
